MYSPACE

Saxey Moments FrontBlue Sky (right), released in 2006 is the latest album of original material from Jools Baker.

Featuring 13 full length songs all which have been written by Jools, it is essentially a session album combining the talents of many well known musicians from Gloucestershire.

A complete change from the first two albums, more acoustic pop rock with harder guitar sounds provided by Paul Mason and and Nick Baratt of Pendragon who lent his support whilst visiting DB Studios (Stroud).

Patsy Gambles saxophone solos and horn section provide the soulful sounds on 'cool on you', a slow ballad which made quite a contrast to the album.

Blue Sky has been a natural evolution on my return from Europe in 1995, having played with a wide array of talented musicians I decided to something of an acoustic CD.....well that's how it started, loaded with an array of Jazz type chords I started to open up these chords to give me a bigger sound. This naturally led me to a more rock type influence.

Saxey Moments BackIt took me six years to develop the CD whilst living in the east end of London. In the year 2001 I'd finished the recording at DB Studios with session musicians.

Due to finances the album was still along way off from being released, then in 2004 I sold my London flat to live in a camper which gave me the money to finish Blue Sky.

Produced by Andy Longhurst and eventually a finished mastered CD, complete with cover design and a full set of printed lyrics, this is my first fully produced solo album of songs.

What's it all about? It's a journey of time, effort, criticism and the hard reality of being a musician/song writer which I'm sure most people in making music will have encountered. Described as climbing mountains, falling off and climbing up again! and again! Never giving up in the persuite of reaching your potential, hence the name Blue Sky.
