This time we have a couple of clips of vocalist Caroline Turner, who is half of the duo of The Smooth Operators!
The first clip is Caroline singing 'Pearls a Singer', a song by Elkie Brooks. Carolines father Bruce Turner actually played saxophone for Elkie Brooks! Press play to watch the clip:

Clips from the France Lynch festival! added by Admin email
Jools returns, this time with a new bunch of video clips taken at the 13th France Lynch Festival 2008, hosted by Mick and Pat Duff and held at their Kings Head pub in France Lynch on the 19th of July 2008. Check out their website it's a great pub with always plenty going on!
The first two video clips are from super band Jibberish. You might recognise most of The Hawds who have appeared in the blog before. Solos by Dave Miles. Mick Duff. In the first clip they are performing 'Reeling in the years', a Steely Dan number:
The second clip is Jibberish covering a well written song by Bob Dylan, originally performed by the band. Jibberish performed this song really well and it's called 'The Wait' :
Next up is two clips from Ron Crisp, a man of style, skipping and a jumping, hopping and a bumping! First up he singing 'The Joker' by the Steve Miller band:
Ron is also, a class act on the blues harp, he does the next song about getting stoned! :
He also appears on the new Pendragon CD 'Pure', due to be released in early September, check out the Pendragon site for more details on this.
Finally we have a couple more clips, the first one is from Simon Massey an excellent one man show, sorry about the camera wobble! You can also see Simon Massey on last Monday of every month at the open mike night at the Kings Head :
And last but not least we have a cover of 'Lonesome Pine', sung very well and performed beautifully by a newishly formed band who's name escpaes me! :

Jools is back with another set of musical clips!! added by Admin
Jools is back again with a collection of short videos he's taken whilst out on his travels, a wide array of musical talent and styles I'm sure you will agree, press play on each video to hear them!
The first two clips are of The ELO Experience playing at the Wadley mens club in Sheffield. The songs are "Mr Blue Sky" and "Sweet Talking Woman" respectively. For those who love The ELO, they're a great tribute band. Check out their site http://www.elotribute.com for more details.
Next up is a band known as The Mens Club, playing at Wadley Bridge in Sheffield. First clip is the Jams a "Town Called Malice", followed by Phil Collins "You can't hurry love".
The next two clips are very rare clips of a very famous avant gard poet sax player Ted Miltons blurt, if you haven't heard it then you really have missed something special. Press play to hear some cigar cutting sax!
Next up is two clips from the 'Party on the farm'! The first clip is local Stroud band Firetree ,an up and coming Reggae fusion band, check out their myspace http://www.myspace.com/firetreeband . The 2nd clip is from high energy indie band yet to be named, will keep you posted!

Caroline Turner and Jools AKA 'The Smooth Operators'! added by Admin
I have recently started working with a great vocalist called Caroline Turner, together we have formed a vocal/sax duet known as The Smooth Operators. We have just finished a covers album entitled Love Recovery, an album of easy listening Jazz-Pop standards, showcasing the great vocals of Caroline and my sax playing, giving people a taster of what to expect if you were to book The Smooth Operators.

Mike McSweeney on candid camera and 80's popstar alert! added by Admin
Mike McSweeney of the band Ruths Curtain held a party last week which Jools went along to and managed to get a bit of a candid camera interview with Mike himself, talking about songs from his new album 'Look and Feel'. Press play below to see what he said!

Finally the picture to the below right is of 80's pop star Stella Barker, who had success in the 80's with the all female British rock band The Belle Stars. Stella makes an appearance on Mikes new album.

Jools recently took some video footage of himself rehearsing tracks for his 'Better late than never' tour, filmed at DB Studios! See the results below:
The first clip features Jools playing the sax on a song called 'Slightly out of tune (desifando)', this is the first track off the Saxey Moments album, press play and enjoy!
The next clip below is Jools on guitar this time, playing an unplugged version of 'Peace with your Heart', this track is from the Blue Sky album:

The Patsy Gamble Band - Live at The Imperial! added by Admin
Jools recently went to watch The Patsy Gamble Band at the up and coming Jazz venue - The Imperial in Stroud (by the railway station). Below is a few video clips and pictures from the evening.
The first clip to the left is a cover of the classic song 'Moondance', check it out! The picture to the right is of Patsy herself playing the mellow tone on her tenor horn!
Next up below in the video to the left is short clip of the 'The Patsy Gamble Band' covering the 'Average White Bands' classic song 'Pick up the Pieces', press play! The picture to the right is of the bands drummer Paul Wigens. Paul is a session drummer and has played on a couple of Jools' CD's, namely Blue Sky and Get Ready for the Changes. Paul also has his own Myspace site, Check it out if you so wish!
Finally we have a couple more band shots below, the first picture to the left is of the band, check out the guitarist and hidden keyboardist in this great band! The picture to the right is of the bands bass player, Mark Butler who also plays in The Hawds, Mark also played bass on Time For Change to Come.

The next clip is from Danny and Gene the lost and wandering jazz and blues band!, busking on the streets of Nice. The picture to the right is a photographic portrait of Danny (Fitzgerald) himself, the oldest busker in the world!
Below have Danny in action again here, busking on the streets of Nice but this time it's Danny with Brice and his boogie men!. The picture to the right is Brice himself, the fantastic Boogie man guitarist, remember that tune 29 years??! The boogiemen will be playing at the La Cave du Relais (Nice, France) on the 26th July 2007, pop in if you're near by!
The picture below is also in Nice and is of world renowned Tommy Tortaline (left) from Chicago and Danny (right):
We are still in Nice and the next clip below (quite dark as was filmed at night) is a track entitled 'Move on', performed by Ken Post (opening act for the Rolling Stones world tour!) with backing vocals by Elizabeth Lewis and Jools himself. The picture to the right is of Ken Post outside Nice Stadium.
To the left have a picture of Elizabeth in much brighter light than the video clip (above), Elizabeth is a presenter on Monaco radio and Riveria famous! Also we have view of the beautiful Nice just below.

Moving onto Belgium now, the video clip below is of genius Jazz guitarist Fapy Lafertin, I filmed this at the Hotclub in Gaunt, Belgium. This clip is well worth a listen for his amazing guitar skills! For further details on Fapy, check out his website.

Back in England now, the next clip below is of Andy Gilliams and Dave Miles hanging out with The Hawds at the 2 pigs in Corsham! The picture to the right is of Buttsy hanging out at the Woolpack Slad, he may not be the poet Laurie Lee but he's the King of the Hawds!.
The clip below is of ex Pendragon drummer Harold (Nigel Harris) at the Pendragon rehearsals, getting ready for the re-union gig at Riffs. Not bad for a beginner...wont give up the day job Harry!
November 2006
On tour with Pendragon now, the video clip is a touching moment of Genesis. Steve Thorne sings along with keyboard maestro Rik Carter, backstage at the recording of the 'Past and Presence' DVD by Pendragon in Katowice Poland.
The picture to the right is of Pendragon frontman, Nick Barrett as he just steps out of his private plane possibly piloted by his brother Patrick maybe thats why he's in a hurry to get off!.
Below Left: Rik Carter being questioned by Pendragon bass player Pete Gee who asks him "so just how much cash have you got in your attic Rick?".
Below Right: Wilce looking amused along with Barney the ex keyboard player of Pendragon and sound engineer Rob who's invited them out for dinner on Pendragons tour bus. You cheapskate Rob!
