Youtube round up...congrats to Steve Thorne and Rik Carter added by Admin

 We thought we'd take a quick look at what people are viewing over on our bit of youtube of various clips that Jools has filmed over the last couple of years or so.
Congratulations to Steve Thorne and Rik Carter who have notched up the first video to get over 1000 plays for their Touching Moment of Genesis which was filmed by Jools backstage at the recording of Pendragons 'Past and Presence' DVD a couple of years back.
Phil Jones and the Gypsy Queens which was filmed over in France are trailing not far behind with almost 1000 plays. See below for a quick rundown of the most popular clips:

Open Mic nights around Stroud added by Admin

Jools can regularly be found at a couple of great open mic nights around the Stroud area.
On Monday nights up at the Kings Head in France Lynch. Visit their website for more details.

Jools playing live at The Stirrup Cup! added by Admin

 Jools will be playing saxophone live at the Stirrup Cup (Bisley, Stroud) on Saturday the 20th December 2008. The set starts at 9pm but get there early to gaurantee a seat!
The Stirrup Cup is a lovely pub in Bisley, if you're from Stroud I'm sure you have heard of it but you can visit their website for more details. Hope to see you there on the 20th!

 Jools would just like to thank all the people from Weymouth who he recently met and supported him and Caroline whilst staying there for a few weeks.
The mini tour bus has now moved along the coast to Exeter for the next 6 weeks so keep and eye out if you're in the vicinity!

The Smooth Operators gig and Pendragon release Pure! added by Admin

 Jools and Caroline AKA 'The Smooth Operators' are appearing at the Millbrook Inn (Devon) on Sunday November 2nd 2008 in one of The Millbrooks regular Sunday jazz sessions.
The Millbrook Inn is a lovely pub run by Ian and Diana, visit their site for more details and the location. Come along if you are in the area!
 Pendragon have recently released their latest album 'Pure' (right) which is a fantastic album and well worth a listen.

The blog has been updated with a new set of video clips, check out The Blog for more details.
Also a new track by Jools has been added in Latest Sessions. The track is called 'Do You Believe in me' and is one of the tracks that just missed out on being on Jools' Blue Sky album.
And don't forget to keep an eye on our Download Chart which is updated every month, you can help influence the chart by downloading tracks off the site!

Online music stores! added by Admin

 The ability to purchase full albums in downloadable MP3 format as opposed to buying physical CD's is becoming more and more popular.
Jools 'Blue Sky' album is now available to purchase from Itunes (you will need to have Itunes installed and search for 'Jools Baker' in the store) and is also available on CDBaby
 'The Hawds' (right), a great band you might of heard of via the site too have also recently uploaded two of their albums to Music Zeit. Both albums feature ex Pendragon drummer Nigel Harris who has also drummed on some of The Ascendance works.

Five NEW songs uploaded! added by Admin

 We have just uploaded 5 full tracks to download in the latest sessions section.
Two of the tracks are from a band known as Planet Kitchen, the brainchild of Jools friend known as Sarge. Another two are from the band Ruths Curtain who have featured on the site before. Jools did some saxophone sessions on all 4 tracks. The final new track is an extra track from the Blue Sky album, which didn't quite make it onto the album.

Over 1000 site downloads and NEW chart and WIN a CD! added by Admin

The Ascendance.com have now had over 1000 downloads in total of all the songs freely available to get off the site.
To celebrate and just for a bit of fun really we will be having a top 10 download chart at the end of each month, so you need to pass on the link to your friends and families if you would like to see a particular song move up our chart!
Peace With Your Heart by Jools is topping the chart, with Going Away by Ruths Curtain in 2nd spot!
